D-Backs One Millionth Fan at Salt River Fields


PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks welcomed the one millionth the gates at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick today. The millionth D-backs fan, David Fried and family, was welcomed by D-backs Legend Luis Gonzalez, D-backs Executive Vice President Cullen Maxey and Salt River Fields General Manager Dave Dunne before the D-backs vs. Dodgers game today. The Fried family received a D-backs jersey and season tickets for the 2017 Spring Training season at Salt River Fields.

In 2013, Salt River Fields passed the one-million attendance mark for all events held at the complex that includes fans for both D-backs and Colorado Rockies Spring Training games as well as events such as concerts and festivals.

The award-winning facility, now in its sixth season, has had more than 100 sellouts since 2011. Among the recent awards given to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick are “Best Spring Training Facility” by Arizona Foothills magazine for the fourth consecutive year, “Best Spring Training Destination” by Sports On Earth and “#1 Spring Training Facility” byConcierges magazine. It is also the first Spring Training facility to receive a gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program and the first Spring Training complex to be built on Native American land.
