Specialized Computer Technology Offers Concert Audiences a Chance to SEE What Music LOOKS LIKE

While concerts are generally all about listening, Arizona Pro Arte’s upcoming performances combine both audio and visuals for a unique concert experience.
Tucked behind the string section of an orchestra, audiences often don’t get to observe wind players (oboes, clarinets, horns, etc.) at work. So, with their upcoming concerts, “The Winds”, Arizona Pro Arte Ensemble showcases the players from their wind section performing some of the best known pieces in the repertoire.
Additionally, this treat for your ears will be coupled with stunning real-time computer generated visuals that adapt live with the music. These concerts will be accompanied by SoundSpectrum technology, a rich music visualization software which will offer audiences a chance to SEE what this live musical performance LOOKS LIKE with unique video images!
Timothy Verville, Artistic Director and Conductor of Arizona Pro Arte explains, “…”
The concert program features the winner of Arizona Pro Arte Ensemble’s “Chamber Wind Ensemble Call for Scores” project. Seeking to provide audiences with the best experience possible, to the widest exposure of great music, Arizona Pro Arte held two “Call for Scores” projects for the 2012-2013 season. A winner was selected for each project with their compositions performed on one of this season’s concerts.
The winner of the “Chamber Wind Ensemble Call for Scores” project was Adria L. Stolk with her work Pear Tree, for flute and cello. Ms. Stolk’s compositions are about interactions. They explore her emotional, spiritual and cognitive responses to natural environments and human relationships. Currently her compositional interests lie in finding new ways to explore and interpret sensory and emotional stimuli through musical textures, shapes and sounds.
